The goal of the project was to revive the Piazza Piemonte Theater as a suitable place to host major musical theater productions. A new look for the National Theater in Milan was launched, with extensive renovation and modification of the internal layout, mainly enlarging the stage and incorporating essential technology.
Recovering the external façade of the theater was a symbolic step; first in restoring the identity of the building without changing its original features and concrete decorations, and second in ensuring a uniform appearance. All closed entrances to the Piazza were renovated with all openings being replaced with wide windows. The project also included the redevelopment and revitalization of the Piazza itself, creating spaces that can be used, and a new underground parking station.
